Contemporary Dharma
Wealth creation is probably the one aim many agree to aspire for in our modern world at some point in their life. But, is it the end or means to an end? It is also interesting to juxtapose wealth with respect. Is there a relation? Think about it....
The insights from a 2x2 that has comparative wealth on one axis and respect on another axis is amusing and revealing at the same time. The 2x2 works not only for individuals but also for enterprises. I hope you enjoy exercising your brain. I had a ball when I plotted Buddha, Tata, Ambani. Of course, lot of debates ensued with friends :).

Additional questions to ponder:
1. How do you move across quadrants?
2. Is the lower left quadrant bad?
3. What really happens if you have no wealth?
Democracy meter
A take on the"health check"of a democracy.

I believe Levitsky and Ziblatt have written an important book (about democracy) that every citizen of every country should read. My view is that this one book should be distilled to an easily usable and palatable checklist for a citizen of the modern world so that they can check the state of their democracy. Just in case, they need to"work-on and adjust the sails"as the winds are changing ;).

My attempt on the checklist is here.

Please try responding and reflect on the statements and the result.

Disclaimer: This checklist is based on my interpretation of what I read and my observations. Authors, publishers etc. are not liable for my mistakes, misunderstandings etc.

Of course, the real question is: Is democracy the best construct for the modern world? ...Just leaving it here ;)
